Sagewell Orthopaedics to Support Carriker Chronicles Football Camp
June 12 2026

Sagewell Orthopaedics is proud to support the Carriker Chronicles Football Camp on July 8, joining athletes, coaches, families, and community partners for a day focused on football fundamentals, encouragement, and youth development.

As part of the event, Dr. Scott Strasburger will be helping coach athletes during camp activities. Sagewell athletic trainers Casey Scott, MAT, LAT, ATC, CNC, and Mike Livergood, MS, ATC, CSCS, will also be on-site to support athletes' wellness throughout the day. In addition, Sagewell will provide an athletic training tent, host a parent discussion, and help support awards for the kids.

Supporting Young Athletes and Families

Youth sports give kids the chance to build confidence, learn teamwork, and grow through movement and competition. At the same time, young athletes are still developing, which makes injury awareness, hydration, recovery, and early communication especially important.

Sagewell’s involvement in the Carriker Chronicles Football Camp reflects a continued commitment to supporting athletes where they play and helping families feel more informed throughout the sports season.

On-Site Athletic Support

During the camp, Dr. Strasburger will help coach and support athletes as they move through football activities and position-focused instruction.

Casey Scott, MAT, LAT, ATC, CNC, and Mike Livergood, MS, ATC, CSCS, will be available on location as athletic trainers, providing support for athlete wellness needs throughout the day. This may include helping with prevention, minor concerns, hydration awareness, taping or wrapping needs, and guidance if an athlete may need to pause activity.

Sagewell will also provide an athletic training tent as a central place for athletes and families to ask questions, receive support, and connect with trained professionals during the event.

Parent Discussion at 11:30 AM

Sagewell will host a parent discussion at 11:30 AM focused on supporting athletic kids and recognizing early signs of injury. The session will offer practical guidance on topics such as:

  • Recognizing pain or movement changes that may need attention
  • Supporting rest, recovery, and hydration
  • Encouraging athletes to speak up about discomfort
  • Knowing when an injury may need further evaluation

The goal is to help parents feel more prepared to support their young athletes in a healthy, sustainable way.

Celebrating Camp Participants

Sagewell is also proud to help support awards for the athletes at camp. Recognition can be a meaningful part of the experience, celebrating effort, improvement, leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, and performance.

Youth sports are about more than competition. They are also about learning, growing, showing effort, and building confidence.
